Hello YEM watchers! Today, we have an exclusive interview with film and Broadway actress Milanis Clark. Milanis recently sat down with YEM to discuss her roles in the critically acclaimed Broadway production of Tina – The Tina Turner Musical, the Disney+ film Better Nate Than Ever, and her upcoming role in Ella! the American Miracle play.

If you don't know who Milanis is, she is a talented eleven-year-old actress and singer. Born and raised in New York City, Milanis has been delighting audiences since the age of three. She got her first big acting break when she was cast as young Alline, in the Broadway production of Tina - The Tina Turner Musical. Since then, she has been featured in films such as the 2022 Disney+ production of Better Nate Than Ever. And just recently, she has been cast as Teddy (the young Ella Fitzgerald's friend) in the pre-production of Ella! An American Miracle.

The Class | YEM Exclusive Interview w/ Charlie Gillespie

Greetings YEM viewers! Today, we have an exclusive interview with none other than “Julie and the Phantoms” star Charlie Gillespie. Charlie recently sat down with YEM to discuss his new role as Jason in the film “The Class”.

If you don't know yet, "The Class" is a coming-of-age film about a bunch of seniors in high school students who must spend their Saturday taking a test they either missed or failed. By day's end, the teens discover their ideals, betrayals, and acts of love within themselves and their peers.

YEM first asked Charlie about how he got into acting. Charlie gave us a lengthy backstory into what made him begin acting and his first experience on stage. We also asked Charlie what his secret was to remembering lines for his roles. Charlie gave a lot of great tips and tricks viewers might find handy in their day-to-day lives. Since "The Class" is loosely based on the 1980's classic hit film “The Breakfast Club”, we ask Charlie what it was like co-staring with “The Breakfast Club” star, Anthony Michael Hall. It was, according to Charlie, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And of course, we couldn't help but get a little personal and ask Charlie what life is like in Canada!

One of Us is Lying Season 2 | YEM Exclusive Interview w/ Sara Thompson

Guess what, YEM readers? We have yet another exclusive interview with one of the stars from the Peacock network’s “One of Us is Lying”: Sara Thompson! Sara plays Vanessa Clark, girlfriend of TJ and best friend to Addy.

If you don’t know what “One of Us is lying” about, let us fill you in on all the details!

“One of Us is Lying” is based on the New York Times bestselling novel by author Karen M. McManus. The premise is a classic who-done-it but with a youthful and edgy twist. The story centers around five high schoolers: Simon, Copper, Nate, Addy, and Bronwyn. During their stint in detention, Simon is murdered, thus leaving the other four remaining students under suspicion.

Simon’s murder was due to his role as the mastermind behind the school’s salacious online gossip group, in which he reveled in sharing his classmates’ secrets. As the show progresses, these dark secrets become revealed one by one.

“One of Us is Lying” is currently in its second season. And this time, things have gotten eerier for the cast of characters. In our interview with Sarah, we discuss a wide range of topics about her style of acting, Vanessa and “One of Us is Lying”.

In the interview, we start by asking what it was like for Sara to play Vanessa in her very own episode! Vampire Academy Season 1 | YEM Exclusive Interview with Andrew Liner, Kieron Moore, and André Dae Kim

Vampire Academy is the newest show that's become totally beloved by its ever-growing fan base, and here at YEM, we love it too! We got the chance to sit down with some of the stars from St. Vladimir’s Academy and talk all about their characters and time on the show. We talked to Andrew Liner, Kieron Moore, and André Dae Kim, who play Mason Ashford, Dimitri Belikov, and Christian Ozera, respectively, so you definitely won’t want to miss the full interview.

 

First, we got into what it’s been like to have Vampire Academy become such an international success, despite it being such a new show. It was really great to talk to them about how the show covers so much that is relative to our world today, and how it holds so many universal themes. André got into what he thinks about the growth of the fanbase and why he thinks the show has such an appeal, so it was really cool to break that down.

 

During the interview, Andrew shared a little about his time on Grown-ish, and how he approached acting on that show versus Vampire Academy. We also got into each of their characters, which was so fun to talk about. Kieron gave us a lot of inside info on his character, Dimitri, and what he thinks about Dimitri’s internal struggles. Also, Kieron is a poet as well as an actor, so he talked a little about how he brought that experience into his character.

YEM Exclusive Interview with Garrett Clayton

If you’re a fan of the musical world, you’ll want to tune into this interview! YEM got to sit down with Garrett Clayton, star of musical classics, Teen Beach Movie and Hairspray Live, and talk all about his career and his experience acting. Garrett shared all about his time acting in movies, TV, and theater, as well as some of the upcoming projects he has. It was so great to talk to Garrett all about this, so you’ll definitely want to see our full conversation with him!

Garrett first told us a little bit about how he got started in the acting industry. Looking back at his time acting, we talked about how Garrett didn’t start in a major hub like NYC or LA, so it was so interesting to hear about how his career has progressed. One of his most recent career developments has been his role as Pennywise in IT: A Musical Parody. Garrett talked all about the show and what it was like to perform onstage again after the pandemic. He also shared a little bit about his passion for theater, and how much he loves performing and watching live performances.

Garrett has also gained quite a bit of popularity on TikTok, with 4.4 million followers, so we talked a lot about what his experience has been like on the act. TikTok is such a great platform for creativity, but it’s definitely different in terms of the traditional acting industry, so we dove into what he’s experienced while on the app that was different from his prior acting experience. Garrett also talked a lot about how he manages his own creativity while dealing with some hate comments and trolling, so he shared some advice on how he deals with that. Finally, Garrett tells us all about what’s next for him!

Heartstopper | William Gao Answers Twitter Questions

Heartstopper took the world by storm after its release on Netflix, and we still can’t get enough! The show explores sexuality, relationships, queerness, and high school dynamics through some of the most lovable characters you’ll ever see on screen. YEM got the chance to sit down with William Gao, who plays one of our faves on the show, Tao Xu. Tao is close friends with Charlie and plays a main role throughout the first season of the show. Today, we have William answering some Twitter fan questions, so be sure to tune in to hear everything we talk about with him! We also have a full interview with William up on our website and YouTube that you’ll definitely want to check out as well!

First, we got into a little bit about Tao as a character, and had some fans ask some super interesting questions! William told us everything, from what Tao’s favorite film is to what he would wear to the MET Gala! Also, William goes through some differences he shares with his character, specifically surrounding Marvel movies. It was so fun to have these questions to learn more about Tao as a character!

We also got to talk about some fun behind the scenes stuff. With a cast made up of mostly teens, we can imagine that there were some funny moments on set! William shares some of the silly things that happened off camera with his co-stars, which was so great to hear about. William also tells us about some of his favorite memories and lines during his time acting in the first season, so you won’t want to miss that!
