Catherine Bradley discusses the power of writing and new Rebel Girls book | Young Entertainment Mag

YEM returns with an exclusive interview with Catherine Bradley, an actress and now writer in the new Dear Rebel: 145 Women Share Their Best Advice for the Girls of Today book out this October. The book is a new addition to Rebel Girls, a digital media company and children’s book publisher, founded in 2016 by Elena Favilli. Rebel Girls is dedicated to women empowerment and focuses on providing inspiring role models for young girls, from contributors including Melinda Gates, Drew Barrymore, and more. Catherine and her two sisters used to read Rebel Girl books growing up and they will now have their own poetry featured in the new book.

We asked Catherine about writing and she says it is one of her favorite ways to express herself and she hopes to continue doing so in the future.

Getting to know Hayley Lu Richerdson and co-star Ben Hardy through the creators of the film ”Love at First Sight” | Young Entertainment Mag

YEM sits down with creators of new movie Love at First Sight, Jennifer E. Smith and Vanessa Caswell to get the exclusive details behind the shooting of this sweet love story. If you haven’t seen this movie yet, here’s a quick overview – it’s a love story for the ages and an absolutely incredible adaptation of Jessica E. Smith’s book where Hadley Sullivan (played by Haley Lu Richardson who you may recognize from the 2019 drama Five Feet Apart) as she finds herself on the same flight as a mysterious and attractive stranger, Oliver Jones (Ben Hardy). The two spend the hours from New York to London falling madly in love. However, when they get off the plane, they get separated at customs and Hadley and Ben then have to figure out how to find each other again.

Jordyn McIntosh discusses her young acting career and The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry film adaptation | Young Entertainment Mag

YEM returns with an exclusive interview with Jordyn McIntosh, who plays Maya in The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry. The film premiered on Hulu in 2022 and is based on the 2014 New York Times bestselling book of the same name by Gabrielle Zevin. It tells the story of bookstore owner A.J. Fikry who is struggling after the loss of his wife and financial struggles with his bookstore. He feels lost in this period of his life and hits rock bottom when one of his most prized possessions, a series of poems from Edgar Allen Poe, are stolen. Yet one day, a mysterious package appears at his bookstore and it takes him on a journey of learning more about life and love than he ever expected.

YEM sits down with Aitch Alberto, writer and director of new feature film Aristotle and Dante Discover the Universe, for an exclusive interview! If you haven’t seen this movie yet (and you really should) here is a little overview – it is a film adapted from the book by Benjamin Alire Sáenz, about two teenage boys who meet over the summer at their local pool and instantly have a connection despite their different interests. The story is told over the course of a few summers as the boys discover more about themselves, their families and each other.

 

We talked with Alberto about how she wanted to tell this story and how she wanted to display these characters. We also discussed the challenges of working on a movie like this and the logistical as well as social aspects of the project. She talks about working as a team and what the behind-the-scenes environment looked like while shooting.

Anna Duboc shares how real life inspired her new song | Young Entertainment Mag

YEM has an exclusive interview for you with singer-songwriter Anna Duboc. With more than 27,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, she is quickly establishing an impressive music career at a young age, being compared to Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo. Anna spoke to YEM about her process creating music, including the release of one of her newest songs, Ignorance Is Bliss. And she’s more than a singer-songwriter, she also produced the song too.

We asked Anna about where she gets inspiration for her songs. According to Anna, the most challenging part of creating her song Ignorance Is Bliss was the emotional aspect of it. “Whenever I write, it’s from a true place,” she said, adding that this song was inspired by her real life. “Writing the lyrics down was hard to do, but once they were on the paper,” it all came together. “It was mostly my own emotions and the situation that was happening at that time.”

Constance Zimmer teaches on set and tries to be mother on set | Young Entertainment Mag

YEM returns with an exclusive interview with Constance Zimmer, who stars as Shira Bolitar in the TV series Harlan Coben's Shelter. For those who need a refresher on the series, the series follows the story of Mickey Bolitar and his new life with a mother in rehab, a deceased father, an annoying aunt, and a new school in New Jersey. The storyline starts after a creepy old woman tells Mickey that his father isn't dead, and as a result, Mickey thinks he's losing his mind.

We briefly asked her what was it about the show that really adds to the thriller feel, like the music or the sets in the background, to get her in the headspace to play a character like that. Constance answered that for her, it's the writing as Harlan Coben is just a genius at writing suspense novels and thrillers and keeping the twists and the turns in ways that you haven't thought you figured out, but you haven't. For those who need a refresher, the series follows the lives of three siblings: Tom (the oldest sibling), Sarah (the middle sibling), and Connor (the youngest sibling). The three siblings' incomes vary as Tom, his wife Marina, and their three children are a middle-class family, while Sarah, her wife Denise, and their two adopted children are living paycheck to paycheck, and Connor is well-off financially, but in the process of finalizing a divorce from his soon-to-be ex-spouse.

We briefly asked what her life has been like before and after joining the cast of Home Economics. Jordyn said that her nonprofit organization, Jordyn's Joy, holds various book drives and toy drives to give back to local charities in need. She recently gave back to Ronald McDonald's House to help a lot of her friends who were sick and needed help. She added that before Home Economics, she was just auditioning a lot as she was homeschooled and did a few roles, such as Raven's Home, and hangout with her friends a lot, doing the regular stuff the average kid would do.

For those who need a refresher on the series, the series tells the story of Mickey Bolitar, a teen who starts a new life in Kasselton, New Jersey. With his mother in rehab and his father dead as a doornail, an interesting aunt, and a whole new school, things have taken a strange turn for Mickey when he becomes entangled with the mysterious disappearance of Ashley Kent, and that his father may not be as dead as he thinks.

 

We briefly asked what was the most played song played between the three of them. Jaden answered that he doesn’t know if anyone listened to the playlist, which Abby mentioned that she did. Adrian meanwhile answered that he didn’t remember, to which Abby added that everyone has individual playlists for their characters. Adrian answered that he doesn’t, and the three spend some time laughing about their choices. Abby answered that her favorite song to help be incorporated into her character was Feel Good Incorporated by the Gorillaz, while Jaden listens to These Chains from a Korean band.
